WHAT IS HSAB?
The Honors Student Advisory Board (often shortened to HSAB) is a student organization at Miami University that is connected to the Honors College. Since being founded in 2010, HSAB has served as a connector of the Honors community by planning social, philanthropy, and academic events to help bring Honors students and faculty together. HSAB also emphasizes helping members grow in leadership and academics to prepare them for future careers.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
As stated above, HSAB's primary goal is to create a community for Honors students at Miami University to grow and thrive. Through the events planned and executed by HSAB, Honors students can connect with both Honors faculty and other Honors students of different majors and backgrounds. Additionally, HSAB is dedicated to developing the leadership and event planning skills of its members through it structure.
STRUCTURE
HSAB is operated primarily by teams, each serving different roles within the organization. These teams, composed of one or two team leaders and multiple other members, are responsible for organizing and planning events related to their purpose. Typically, HSAB has New Member & Recruitment, Sustainability, Philanthropy & Community Service, Student-Faculty Relations, Health & Wellness, and Academic & Research teams, in addition to other teams that vary by semester. In addition, HSAB is overseen by an executive board, composed of 8 members:

Additionally, HSAB is overseen by the Miami University Honors College and is advised by Honors faculty member Jonathan James.
Currently, HSAB is composed of over 50 members, representing over 50 different majors and co-majors.
